2060

Fascinated by the realm of water, which infuses a number of his works. "What is to become of our bodies and our lives in 2060?" is the question Basile Pelletier asked himself to realize this film photography series. The works extracted from that project evoke a delicate dystopia on the gurgling up waters triggered by climate change, and interrogate its possible implications for our bodies in the years to come.

2060 was Basile's first series, and the questions it opened, about water, disappearance, and what remains, would carry into the work that followed.

“I woke up, it was the house where I was born.

It was raining softly in all the rooms, I went from one to another, looking at the water that shone on the mirrors..., the fast flowing water where memories vanish?”

Yves Bonnefoy, from La maison natale, 2001, Translation by John T. Naughton, 2003
